Old Market Dresden

This development saw the construction of a new, clearly structured office and bank building at the Old Market beside the Frauenkirche, which provided a contrast with the existing, predominantly historical architecture surrounding it.  The architects Giorgio Gullotta and Peter Kropp used diamond-ground Obernkirchener Sandstein® in yellow.

The clear horizontal and vertical lines of the architecture are subtly broken up by the light bands of sandstone. By using warmly coloured Obernkirchener Sandstein®, the predominantly graphical architecture is integrated into the surrounding historical structures.
